Recruiting
GIFT is a tightly woven group of people with a deep desire to progress. As a progression guild certain things must always be kept in mind. Raiding can be a lot like being part of a professional sports team, we have many different players with lots of positions and there are times were we will need to make a substitution. When you are asked to sit out it is for the good of the guild and nothing personal.
We currently raid:
- Tuesday - 5ST until 9ST
- Thursday - 5ST until 9ST
Loot system overview:
Loot is distributed using an open-bid, DKP system.
1) You can bid only what dkp you have.
2) You determine what an item is worth.
Bidding takes place in a channel. When an item is linked in a raid warning, by the master looter, you begin to bid.
DKP is earned by attending raids, and only by attending raids. If you are waitlisted you will still earn dkp for the raid so long as you stay online. This will count as earned dkp, however, you will still be considered new if you have not yet physically attended a raid.
Application Process:
After you post an application, an officer, or a member of your class will leave you some questions and/or comments. It is your responsibility to answer those questions and consider the comments. This allows us to see your basic understanding of your class and what you may need to improve upon. Once this has been completed an Officer or designee will bring you for a trial run. You should act naturally, perform to the best of your ability, pay attention to directions and most importantly ask questions when you do not understand something or if we do it a different way from how you are accustomed to doing it. This is like a job interview where you are putting your best effort forward, but at the same time this is also a performance evaluation of your playing ability and ability to follow directions.
While on a raid the following is expected of you in the least:
- You will not afk for any prolonged period of time without advance notice, exceptions being an emergency. Cooking a full meal during the raid is not an emergency.
- Be of sound state of mind and body, able to focus and pay attention to the raid.
- Be attentive and listening to vent instructions and paying attention to your class chat channel.
- Be alert and active during boss fights, take a note of something you can do better for the next attempt and ask questions to see if something can be done differently.
If you have any further questions or you wish to apply, please register for our forums and fill out an application.
